Youth justice workers (Night) are the frontline staff who supervise and support young people overnight at Cherry Creek, our secure facility housing young people on remand or sentenced to a period of imprisonment. As a youth justice worker on night shift, you will be responsible for: maintaining the safety and security of our facility CCTV monitoring, compliance reporting, responding to alarms and perimeter searches creating a safe and secure environment for both staff and young people working directly with children and young people in a custodial environment, including regular observation redirecting anti-social and challenging behaviour responding to incidents as they occur helping young people develop positive relationships facilitating support from other services, including health and mental health providers, educators and disability organisations. T o be successful, y ou will be a keen problem solver with great situational awareness. T his job can be tough and at times your resilience will be tested, but by putting in the work, you will see young people make small shifts in their thinking that can have a major impact on their lives and community safety. Cherry Creek has full-time roles available and is located in Little River, just off the Princes Freeway. It's an easy drive from many of Melbourne's western suburbs, as well as Geelong. We're currently offering up to $10,000 as a relocation allowance to help cover costs for eligible candidates who are interested in moving to within an hour's drive of the facility.
