Our client, a leading technology firm, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join their Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) engineering team in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced software engineer with 8+ years of professional experience to contribute to high-performance backend services that handle massive HTTPS traffic at low latency.
The successful candidate will be deeply involved in designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable APIs and microservices using Java or Golang. You will develop React-based internal tools and dashboards to support monitoring and operations, ensuring top-quality deliverables through strong code review practices and collaboration across distributed teams.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing and maintaining low-latency backend services handling millions of HTTPS transactions daily.
* Building secure, reliable APIs and microservices for enterprise integration.
* Developing React applications for operational dashboards and monitoring tools.
* Optimizing backend systems for concurrency, scalability, and resource efficiency.
* Conducting code reviews and promoting clean, maintainable code standards.
* Collaborating closely with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure system availability and reliability.
* Troubleshooting complex production and performance issues promptly.
* Mentoring junior engineers and fostering technical excellence within the team.
* Adopting emerging technologies to improve system performance continually.
Essential qualifications and skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
* Strong programming skills in Java or Golang, especially for backend service development.
* Expertise in building high-concurrency, low-latency HTTP/HTTPS systems.
* Proficient with PostgreSQL including schema design, query optimization, and performance analysis.
* Experience with React for frontend/internal tool development.
* Understanding of API gateways, load balancing, and secure communication protocols including TLS/mTLS.
* Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
* Experience using CI/CD pipelines, preferably Bitbucket Pipelines or similar.
* Good knowledge of Agile development methodologies and test-driven development (TDD).
* Excellent debugging, profiling, and performance tuning abilities.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in distributed teams.
