This is a Fixed Term Full-Time appointment for 75 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE) for 5 years, with the possibility of extension.

Position Profile
The Deputy Chief Health Officer - Public Health leads the Office of the Chief Health Officer in the development and management of public health legislation, regulation, workforce, and planning.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to departmental and divisional strategic planning and decision making.
* Advise the Deputy Director General on high level policy issues and significant trends in health protection and public health, public health regulation, workforce, and planning.
* Lead and coordinate Office and strategic policy development.
* Provide professional and strategic advice to the Minister, executive management, and key stakeholders on health protection and public health legislation.
* Advise on the application and revision of health protection and public health legislation and the development of new legislation and regulations.
* Develop State-wide strategic plans and policies for implementation of legislation relating to the delivery of health protection and public health services.
