Overview
The Manager, Procurement Operations is responsible for leading the planning and execution of the Bureau of Meteorology's procurement operations practice consistent with legislation, Government policy and enterprise processes. The role plays an integral part in the overall effectiveness of the Procurement & Contracts function, ensuring both strategic priorities and governance requirements are balanced to support delivery of Bureau strategy.
Responsibilities
* Establish and improve enterprise procurement practices in the organization.
* Collaborate with the Bureau's commercial capabilities to deliver strategic, complex and operational procurements in line with Government policy and industry best practice standards, frameworks, practices and tools.
* Lead and manage the Procurement Operations team, including recruitment, performance management and balancing the resourcing model between permanent staff and contractors.
* Deliver procurements and contracts in a high‐volume environment with active prioritisation, internal engagement, and hands‐on delivery.
* Provide key support to the Procurement & Contracts Lead, demonstrating high‐level critical thinking, problem solving and influencing skills, and maintaining productive relationships with the Bureau Executive and Managers.
Qualifications
* Significant experience in a procurement workplace characterised by high volume, active prioritisation, internal engagement and hands‐on delivery of procurements and contracts.
