Associate Midwife Educator – Child Birth Educator
Women and Children's Service Group are seeking an experienced and well‐organised Associate Midwife Educator – Child Birth Educator to lead and deliver Child Birth Education services for the Women's and Children's Service Group and the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

• Hours: 56 hours per fortnight (starting 24 August 2026 to 23 May 2027)
Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver Child Birth Education and Parenting Education programs for women with a valid Medicare card.
* Coordinate the CBE staffing team – training, rostering and other human resources management.
* Manage booking and referral processes for the education services.
* Develop and maintain educational material for service consumers and their families.
* Deliver educational material face‐to‐face and via virtual platforms for the CBE and Parenthood Education programs.
* Work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, including day and evening shifts across a 7‐day service.
* Travel to other facilities within the THHS as required, including day or overnight stays.
* Maintain a Class C driver licence and provide verification before commencement.
Qualifications
* Mandatory: Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent.
* Successful applicant will complete mandatory competencies (Townsville University Hospital, Maternity, Examination of the Newborn, Water Immersion in Labour) and Extended Practice Authority – Midwives within three months.
* Knowledge of software packages (Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, ieMR, Power Point).
* Desired: relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field.
* Approved vaccine status for Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.

* Hourly wage: $64.61 – $65.97 (NG6‐2).
