About the Team
Our Senior Social Workers are part of a collaborative, multi‐disciplinary team providing compassionate assessment, support and treatment to children and young people with moderate to severe mental health challenges and their families. We adopt a recovery oriented, child‐centred approach that helps clients establish practical and attainable goals and improves their wellbeing, functioning and engagement in everyday activities.
About the Role
As an experienced Senior Social Worker (Children in Care) you will provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic interventions, including family therapy, individual psychotherapy, group work, and targeted social work strategies, both through outreach and in‐reach services.
Responsibilities
* Lead complex case management for young people, including those under the care of the Department of Communities, and undertake thorough assessments, engagement and care planning to support positive clinical and psychosocial outcomes.
* Actively contribute to multidisciplinary case conferences and treatment planning, and maintain clinical practice informed by outcome measures such as the National Outcomes and Casemix Collection (NOCC).
* Provide expert advice, liaison and education to internal and external stakeholders to strengthen system‐wide responses to child and adolescent mental health needs.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and manage workload in line with professional standards, participate in performance development processes, and contribute to supervision, mentoring and teaching within the service.
* Participate in policy and program development and deliver training in specialist areas, driving continuous improvement in practice.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Social Work.
* Eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
* Experience delivering advanced, evidence‐based mental health services to children and adolescents with complex and severe presentations.
