About the role
The Exercise Physiologist – Mental Health Drug and Alcohol (MHDA) positions provide consumers who have lived experience of mental illness and or addiction with an enhanced opportunity for improved physical health outcomes.
The successful applicants would be employed as part of the Allied Health team at Bloomfield Hospital and be part of the Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology Department at Orange Health Service.
Your work would include delivering appropriate, supportive and safe physical activity and behavioural coaching to our consumers. Bloomfield Hospital is resourced with access to several gyms, bikes, sport fields, swimming pool, and sporting equipment as required.
Bloomfield Hospital - Orange Health Service is one of the largest regional inpatient Mental Health Drug and Alcohol facility in Australia. Inpatient units provide a statewide or district service to adolescents, adults and older people with mental illnesses, mental disorders, drug and alcohol abuse and dependence. At Bloomfield Hospital you will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
The MHDA team consist of 2 Exercise Physiologists, 1 Senior Physiotherapist and 1 Rotating level 1/2 Physiotherapist, and closely working together with Allied Health Assistants. You will work with wards and staff across other disciplines in allied health, medicine, and nursing.
