The successful applicant will be motivated, agile and proactive with expertise in performing due diligence, assessing risk and managing records. You will have detailed knowledge and experience with research contracts and consider yourself an authority in low to medium risk contract arrangements. You will also have experience with contracts requiring a high level of specialist knowledge.

We're offering this role as a hybrid position as part of QUT's commitment to embracing the opportunities created by a more virtual and connected world.

About Us

QUT is a major Australian university with a global outlook and a 'real world' focus. We are an ambitious and collaborative institution that seeks to equip our students and graduates with the skills they will need in an increasingly disrupted and challenged world.

The Research Portfolio provides high quality support and training and conducts compliance and reporting across a range of obligations at an organisational level in an environment of dynamic growth in cross institutional collaborations. The Portfolio is comprised of five units including Research Strategy and Policy, Research Infrastructure, Sustainability Strategy, Office of Research Services and Office of Research Ethics and Integrity. Office of Research Services (ORS) works with QUT staff, students, collaborators, and partners to identify, attract and manage funding from competitive and commercial sources. The Office also manages the University's research management platforms and coordinates internal and external research reporting.

What You Need To Succeed

* A degree with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience.
* Extensive experience with independently managing research contract development and negotiation of low to moderate risk research agreements and the ability to manage high risk research agreements under supervision.
* Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and recommend solutions to challenging issues.
* High level ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures in a complex environment.
* A high degree of initiative, with a track record of independently keeping records, managing tasks and driving projects to completion.
* Highly-developed written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience in negotiation and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a high functioning team environment.
