The College offers a core Year 7 class band and vocal program, alongside senior classes and ensembles involving students of all year levels.
Responsibilities include:
1. Preparing students for performances and examinations, including VCE music performance assessments.
2. Accompanying students for examinations and performances.
3. Preparing written reports for parents.
4. Assisting with musical performance events such as Soirees, Semester music concerts, Music Camps, Presentation nights, and other performances as required.
5. Liaising with other music staff regarding individual student progress and ensemble pathways.
6. Attending and actively contributing to Instrumental Music Meetings.
7. Participating in the management and assistance of musical ensembles.
8. Undertaking other duties as directed by the Head of Music Performance.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
* Excellent music teaching skills.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Current registration with the V.I.T. or a valid Working with Children Check and National Police Records Check.
* A degree in Music; experience in ensemble directing and teaching double reed instruments is advantageous.
* Immediate availability is desirable.
* A strong history of accompanying is advantageous.
* Vocal singing, choir experience, and a background in Musical Theatre are advantageous.
