About This Opportunity
We are seeking an organised and detail‐oriented Finance Officer to join the University of Queensland. Reporting to the Financial Services Coordinator, you will contribute to a collaborative and service‐focused team environment, delivering accurate, timely and efficient financial transaction processing. Your work will directly support operational excellence and enable effective financial management across the University, contributing to UQ's broader mission of creating positive impact through teaching, research and professional services.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, invoicing, debtor and credit management, journal entries, and asset transactions in line with University policy and procedures.
* Ensure the accuracy and validity of chart string data, supporting the chart of accounts and enabling effective budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
* Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, providing high‐quality finance services and escalating complex or sensitive issues where required.
* Support governance, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen financial operations and service delivery.
About You
You are a motivated and detail‐focused finance professional who thrives in a structured, service‐driven environment. You bring a proactive and collaborative approach, ensuring the delivery of accurate and compliant financial outcomes while contributing positively to a high‐performing team.
You will demonstrate:
* Diploma qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or a related field, with relevant experience in transaction processing or shared services, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
* Demonstrated ability to process a broad range of financial transactions including accounts payable, invoicing, debtor and credit management, and journal entries.
* Sound knowledge of financial systems, policies and procedures, with the ability to apply these to deliver accurate, compliant and timely outcomes.
* Experience working with enterprise systems and technology platforms across multiple modules to manage diverse financial data sets.
* Proven ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders, ensuring service delivery meets client needs.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet agreed service standards and timeframes.
* Experience working within service delivery functions in complex stakeholder and policy environments.
