Volunteer Admin Role Gosford Vinnies Support Centre
The Gosford Vinnies support centre offers a range of support and services to those who reside in Gosford and the larger community. The Hub aims to provide services that support people to achieve stability in their lives through empowerment and self-determination.
Gosford VSC provides support and information through:
Advocating in your interests
Referral to relevant services
Assistance with completing forms
Providing resources and information
Use of a computer (conditions apply)
Assistance with bills (Telstra and Sydney Water)
Food parcels and material aid (limits apply)
Duties and Responsibilities
Welcoming and assessing clients to the centre incorporating the W.E.C.A.R.E model.
Interview & assess clients impartially in relation to their needs and enquiries.
Provide appropriate support to clients and follow up situations where required.
Provide relevant information and/or referral to appropriate services.
Advocate and negotiate on behalf of the client when required.
Maintain an enthusiastic, cooperative, qualified and friendly approach.
Consult with VSC staff/coordinator when unsure of process/outcome of interview.
Prepare to adopt and adhere to the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society (NSW).

Be able to advocate for the clients needs
Able to communicate with people facing a diverse range of problems from diverse backgrounds (in person and over the telephone)
An understanding of and willingness to maintain strict confidentiality in the position at all times
Adherence to WH&S; requirements (with appropriate direction and guidance)

We ask for a minimum commitment of 1 day per week from 9.00am 4.00pm and over 18 years.
Training
Orientation to the St Vincent de Paul Society, including Work Health and Safety training.
Relevant training for the role.
Ongoing support from Society staff.
