We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Venue Technicianto help shape the future of arts and culture in our region.

Recentlyopened, Saltwater Busselton is in the heart of Busselton's CulturalPrecinct and is a multi-use facility including an A-class artgallery, 640 seat theatre and state of the art conference suiteoverlooking the beautiful Geographe Bay. We are building a dynamicand experienced technical services team to help shape the future ofarts and culture in the region.
About the role:
As Senior Venue Technician, you will support our Head ofTechnical Services to deliver the technical and backstageoperations at Saltwater. You will liaise with clients regardingtheir technical requirements for events within the venue, includingbusiness events, conferencing, theatre shows, community events andart gallery exhibitions. You will perform the role of Duty Manager,over-seeing events and supervising the technical crew operatinglighting, sound and staging.
What you'll be doing:
* Rig and operate lighting and audio equipment
* Maintain excellent communication between Technical Servicesstaff and our hirers, suppliers, other staff andcontractors
* Provide technical advice and expertise to our hirers andcommunity users of the facility
* Ensure Risk Assessments are completed prior to every eventin the venue
* Maintenance of technical equipment
* Undertake inspections and ensure compliance with Council'sWHS policies
* Direct casual theatre technicians to adequately serviceevents at Saltwater
What you'll bring to the role:
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a technicaltheatre/events role
* Proficiency in computer systems, network maintenance and arange of computing skills
* A calm, cooperative, and customer-focused approach
* Proven experience with WHS procedures within the liveentertainment industry
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
Pre-employment requirements:
* Current C-class Drivers Licence
* National Police Clearance (obtained within last 6months)
* Proof of right to work in Australia
* White Card
* High Risk Work licence
Hours and conditions:
Ordinary hours will follow a fortnightly roster, across weekendsand evenings, depending on what events are scheduled in the venue,so flexibility is essential. Overtime penalty rates are payable forweekend work.
