The Opportunity
Our client, an established and highly-regarded global insurer, is seeking a Casualty Underwriter to join their team in Sydney. This is a great opportunity for someone with the ambition to forge a long-lasting career in underwriting, with one of the world's best insurers.
This will be a market-facing role, ideal for anyone keen to further grow their network with brokers and other industry stakeholders.
You will ideally have a minimum of 3 years casualty underwriting experience, and candidates with tertiary qualifications would be preferred.
Responsibilities
The Casualty Underwriter will have the following responsibilities:
* Underwriting - Apply efficient, effective, and sound underwriting practices to new business, mid-term alterations and renewal management.
* Processing - Processing and document issuance of new business, renewals and endorsements ensuring all interactions are performed in an efficient & effective manner adhering to the required processes for each transaction type.
* Ensure that all relevant correspondence is saved on to relevant systems and that underwriting notes and thought processes and rating are clearly detailed in the underwriting notes section.
* Marketing & Business Development - Further develop the existing book of business in addition to identifying & actively seeking opportunities in new markets.
Skills & Experience
The Casualty Underwriter will ideally have the following skills & experience:
* Previous casualty underwriting experience (at least 3 years);
* Self Driven
* Team Player
* Excellent Relationship Development Skills
* Strong analytical and business acumen skills
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
