About the Sadleirs Global Team Sadleirs Global Logistics (SGL) is our international freight forwarding and customs brokerage division, supporting Australian and overseas businesses with freight movements across global supply chains.

The Role: Customs Broker Our Global division has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and career minded experienced Customs Broker - to be based in either Perth, Melbourne or Brisbane.
This role requires you to be responsible for delivering high-quality support to the Customs team, ensuring all customs and quarantine clearance processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and within required timeframes.
What Will You be doing?
Work with our Forwarding Department and Customs Brokers to meet service level targets.
Prepare and process customs documentation accurately and on time.
Liaise with clients and all stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and strong professional relationships.
Assist with ensuring the prompt and timely customs and quarantine clearance.
Maintain company databases accurately and ensure all records are kept up to date.
Contribute to team performance to meet service levels and maintain effective communication.
Ensure full compliance with all relevant customs legislation and Australian Border Force requirements and Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
Accurately classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) and determine correct customs value, duty, and GST calculations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tariff classifications, concessions, and trade agreements.
Act as a key liaison with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).
Provide advice to internal teams and clients on duty minimisation opportunities where appropriate.
Contribute to the ongoing development of our Customer Service culture and create mechanisms to ensure seamless communication within the department.
Support onboarding of new clients by explaining customs processes and requirements.
Skills, licences & experience required for the position
Customs Broker Licence (Mandatory)
AQIS Accreditation preferably with AEP
Driver's Licence (Desirable)
5 years + global customs broking experience (Mandatory)
Experience with air and sea freight (Mandatory)
Detailed and in-dept of local and international customs requirements.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to self-manage workloads.
High levels of resilience and problem-solving capability.
Team player who can also work autonomously.
