We are seeking an experienced Senior Actuary to join a large and complex national organisation undergoing significant transformation and delivering services that have a meaningful impact on Australians.

Working within a specialist actuarial and insights function, you will play a key leadership role in delivering actuarial analysis, statistical modelling, monitoring, and reporting that supports strategic and operational decision-making.
You will be responsible for managing complex projects, providing high-level actuarial advice, and translating technical findings into meaningful insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to projects that directly influence organisational performance, policy development, forecasting, and long-term planning.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert actuarial, statistical and quantitative analysis to support business outcomes.
* Design, develop and maintain actuarial, statistical and mathematical models that address complex business problems.
* Conduct actuarial monitoring, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, trend analysis and performance reporting.
* Lead reporting, data analysis and data management activities, ensuring quality and accuracy of outputs.
* Deliver ad hoc modelling, analytical investigations and strategic insights as required.
* Present findings and recommendations through clear, concise written reports and stakeholder presentations.
* Manage competing priorities across multiple projects and contribute to broader organisational objectives.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to team members and contractors where required.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Proven experience designing actuarial, statistical and mathematical models to support complex business decisions.
* Strong capability in actuarial monitoring, analysis, forecasting and quantitative modelling.
* Experience undertaking cost-benefit analysis, data tabulations and large-scale analytical projects.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor complex information to diverse audiences.
* Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify opportunities through the analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative information.
* Experience influencing stakeholders and presenting insights that support strategic decision-making.
* Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage competing priorities and work independently in complex environments.
* Experience coaching, mentoring or developing team members will be highly regarded.
* Initial 12-month contract with strong extension potential.
