Mission Expert care, clinical leadership, real results – as a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will advance clinical practice, improve patient outcomes, lead clinical excellence, support colleagues and make a measurable difference.

What You’ll Be Doing You will provide person–centered specialist nursing care at an advanced practice level, collaborating with individual practitioners and the multidisciplinary health‑care team. You will offer clinical leadership, support and supervision for less experienced clinicians to achieve people‑focused quality care.

Selection Criteria

Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, and relevant post‑registration qualifications in renal nursing with a minimum of three years’ experience in the clinical speciality.

Demonstrated competencies in, and knowledge of, the complexities and challenges involved in providing specialist nursing care within a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to exercise extended autonomy in clinical decision‑making and leadership in developing nursing specialty practice advancement.

Effective clinical communication via information technology, written and verbal means, with sound interpersonal skills and a personable, professional manner.

Application of evidence‑based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised, person‑centred care at an extended role level with a commitment to quality improvement.

Supervision, delegation and negotiation skills to deliver quality nursing care, willingness to demonstrate leadership and embrace change in coordination and delivery of care.

Evidence of participation in career development, commitment to maintaining competence and enhancing skills, and willingness to share expertise as a resource person and mentor within the speciality.
