About CALHN
At Central Adelaide (CALHN), we're shaping the future of health through excellence in clinical care, research, and innovation. As South Australia's largest health network, we deliver exceptional, safe and connected healthcare - for our patients, our community, and our people.
ASO-4
As a Clinical Coder, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient data across the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN). You'll be responsible for translating medical diagnoses and procedures into recognised ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes. Your work supports critical functions such as statistical reporting, research, epidemiology, hospital planning, and clinical audits – all essential to maintaining and improving the quality of patient care.
Reporting to the Manager of the Clinical Coding Service, your coding expertise will contribute directly to the assignment of AR-DRGs, which underpin activity‐based funding across inpatient services. With your keen attention to detail and knowledge of health classification systems, you'll be an essential part of a dynamic team that enables accurate data capture, funding optimisation, and quality care outcomes across CALHN.
ASO-5
As an Advanced Clinical Coder, you will be a key member of the Clinical Coding Service within Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN), applying your expertise to the accurate and timely translation of complex medical information into ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes. Your work will support vital health system functions including statistical reporting, epidemiology, hospital planning, quality assurance and research. Most critically, your coding will directly influence the assignment of AR-DRGs, supporting Activity Based Funding and Casemix classification across inpatient services.
In this senior role, you'll take on the responsibility of coding more intricate and complex cases, consulting with medical experts as needed to ensure accuracy and integrity. You'll also play a valuable leadership role by mentoring junior coders and contributing to the ongoing development of coding capabilities within the team. This is an excellent opportunity to take your clinical coding skills to the next level and make a meaningful impact within a dynamic, high‐performing health service.
