About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa, the ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force personnel across Australia.
It includes delivering defence‑ready clinical and support staff across 40+ on‑base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on‑site medical care.
About Lavarack Health Centre
Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia. It provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8,000 members and operates a 24/7 inpatient low‑dependency ward. Standard operating hours are generally 0700‑1630 Monday‑Friday (depending on role requirements and craft groups required for weekend shifts).
Your Impact
We are seeking a Medical Officer / General Practitioner to join us in a permanent part‑time capacity.
As a Medical Officer, you will:
* Deliver primary medical care in line with professional standards and Defence policies.
* Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to support Defence personnel.
* Assess fitness for duty and provide pre‑ and post‑deployment medical support.
* Provide medical technical advice to Defence leadership.
* Work across outpatient and inpatient care settings as needed.
What You Will Need
* Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner.
* FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration.
* Minimum two years’ full‑time (or part‑time equivalent) GP experience in the last five years.
* Australian Citizen – for baseline security clearance requirements.
