Your new role
As a Senior Statutory Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and customer-focused statutory planning services. You'll provide expert advice, mentor planning officers, and oversee complex planning applications to drive growth and sustainability across the region.
Your key responsibilities
* Lead and mentor planning officers, ensuring compliance with legislation and policy frameworks.
* Assess and process planning applications within statutory timeframes.
* Provide expert guidance on land use and development proposals.
* Represent Council at Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal hearings.
* Investigate and enforce planning breaches to uphold regulatory standards.
* Contribute to strategic planning initiatives to enhance future development.
What you'll need to succeed
* Tertiary qualifications in Urban or Regional Planning.
* Minimum 4 years' experience in statutory planning within local government or private industry.
* Strong knowledge of Victoria's planning system, including relevant legislation.
* Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Advanced GIS and database management capabilities.
* Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders and drive positive outcomes.
