Course Coordinator for 1205MED Health Challenges for the 21st Century.
Course Overview
This course sits within the Diploma of Health Sciences on the Gold Coast campus and is delivered in Trimester 2 and Trimester 3.
This course takes a multi-disciplinary and integrated approach to examine population health in the 21st Century. Using a socio-ecological perspective, the course will take a systems approach (i.e. from prevention through to treatment) to introduce students to the environmental, social and behavioural determinants of health and disease. The course will link these determinants with global and national priority health challenges of the 21st Century together with the implications for effective health care practice.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally have:
* A bachelor degree or higher in health science, public heakth, or a related field;
* Experience teaching and/or working within the public health sector;
* A strong understanding of population health, health determinants, and contemporary health challenges;
* The ability to coordinate and support teaching teams and ensure a high-quality learning experience for students;
* Experience with academic writing;
* Experience using Turnitin/ Turnitin Clarity.
