Service: Specialist Homelessness Services
Pathfinders – The Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) program, including the Women and Children's refuge, provides prevention, early intervention, rapid rehousing, crisis, transition responses and intensive support for people with complex needs who are at risk of homelessness or are homeless. Through intensive case management, people are supported to address the issues that have led them to become at risk of homelessness or to become homeless.
Role of the Support Worker
* Assist people to break the cycle of homelessness and support those at risk to remain in long‐term secure accommodation.
* Provide outreach to Glen Innes and work 25 hours per week.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal communities, societies and cultures in NSW.
* Advocate on behalf of Aboriginal people and their families, providing cultural support services to Aboriginal and non‐Aboriginal children, people and families.
* Build strong relationships with Aboriginal agencies to support and strengthen families and cultural connections.
* Work within the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Modern Award (the SCHADS Award) at Level4, Pay Point1.
