Job Overview
Permanent part‐time role at 32 hours per fortnight (0.4FTE). Provide specialised clinical lactation support during pregnancy and early postpartum across Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess, implement, and evaluate care plans for mothers and newborns with complex lactation needs during the antenatal and postnatal period.
* Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to provide education and support to breastfeeding mothers through telehealth and in‐person consultations.
* Promote and support breastfeeding in accordance with WHO principles and IBCLC standards.
* Maintain accurate records within a legal and ethical framework, contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
* Provide training and support to healthcare staff and act as a resource for clinical development within the team.
Ideal Candidate
* Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Current International Board‐Certified Lactation Consultant Certificate with proven skills in lactation support.
* Experience in a midwifery or neonatal setting, demonstrating strong clinical problem‐solving abilities.
* Excellent communication skills, teaching, negotiation and conflict resolution capabilities.
* A commitment to quality improvement and customer service excellence.
* Experience working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
* Strong digital capacity for utilising technology to enhance patient care.
