Role Summary
VAFA seeks a Football Operations Coordinator to support the delivery of the VAFA Strategic Plan and key actions for the Football & Umpiring pillar. The coordinator will manage stakeholder relationships, lead operational activities, and ensure clubs comply with VAFA rules, policies and match‐day requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver the VAFA Strategic Plan and its Football & Umpiring actions.
* Contribute to a positive team culture and uphold VAFA values.
* Manage stakeholder relationships positively.
* Coordinate player registrations, transfers, points and permits.
* Coordinate tribunal, video reviews, match‐day reports, investigations and fines.
* Ensure clubs comply with VAFA rules, policies, code of conduct, AFL NCFPH and match‐day requirements; issue fines as appropriate.
* Prepare agenda and minutes for Football Sub Committee meetings.
* Coordinate operational requirements for Big V and Representative Football games, including team logistics and administration.
* Assist with operational venue requirements for VAFA Finals Series matches.
* Provide administrative and operational support to clubs regarding football enquiries and information.
* Support the Executive Manager Football & Projects as required.
* Carry out other Football Department duties as required.
* Update the Rules of the VAFA and match‐day requirements.
* Achieve KPIs per Management Action Plan.
Essential Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Sports Management, Sports Administration or a relevant field.
* Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working with volunteers.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and strong problem‐solving skills.
* Preparedness to work outside traditional business hours, including weekends during the football season.
* Sports Management / Business Degree.
* National Police / Criminal History Check.
* Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check.
* Driver's Licence.
Desired
* Experience in the operation of a sporting organisation, especially sports tribunal and investigation.
* Understanding of the VAFA competition.
* Sports Tribunal & Investigation experience.
Education / Skills
* Tertiary qualification in Sports Management, Sports Administration or a relevant field.

* Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with volunteers.
* Ability to prioritise tasks.
