Remuneration: Hourly rate of $37.24 per hour, plus 25% casual loading & up to 14% Super.
A recruitment pool provides you with the chance to be considered for a number of temporary, casual labouring positions within Gympie and Kilkivan for a 6‐month period by submitting a single application. Placement in the pool does not guarantee employment.
These positions are on a casual temporary basis and may be based in the Construction or Maintenance teams at either location. Successful candidates will work as part of a multi‐disciplined team to perform a range of labouring, plant operation, and truck driving tasks in support of Council's infrastructure maintenance and construction activities.
Role Overview
This position supports Council's direction by undertaking a range of labouring, plant operation and truck driving tasks as part of a multi‐disciplined team that is responsible for the maintenance of Council's infrastructure assets in accordance with recognised standards.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrated ability to undertake a broad range of tasks including operation of plant, vehicles, equipment and tools in a competent and proficient manner.
* Demonstrated physical agility and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting and bending.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain harmony within a team and foster good working relationships with all council employees and members of the public.
* Demonstrated ability to work under general supervision.
* Queensland "C" Class driver's licence that is current and maintained.
* Construction Industry White/Blue card.
* Operate and maintain light plant and equipment in a competent and efficient manner to deliver Council's work programme.
* Perform labouring tasks in a safe, competent, efficient and timely manner to deliver Council's work programme to quality standards.
* Identify new ways to improve work practices in accordance with council's continuous improvement commitment.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
* Knowledge of civil construction and maintenance activities.
* Concrete and formwork experience.
* Queensland "MR" licence or above that is current and maintained.
* Licences in operation of plant and equipment.
