CDM Principal Designer / CDM Advisor

We are looking to grow our CDM consulting team. This role will involve working on a mixture of new build, refurbishment, tall building remediation, and maintenance schemes across public and private sectors, including NHS, universities and data centres, primarily in the North East and North West of England.
Responsibilities
* Fulfilling the duties of Principal Designer under CDM 2015, including acting as CDM‑Advisor where necessary.
* Applying CDM 2015 regulations and other relevant legislation at the project level.
* Planning, managing, monitoring and coordinating pre‑construction phases to identify, eliminate or control significant risks.
* Gathering pre‑construction information from the client, assessing adequacy, identifying gaps, providing advice and distributing to stakeholders.
* Managing multiple projects, especially high‑rise residential refurbishment, development and commercial sector assignments.
* Attending client meetings, carrying out H&S site inspections and delivering quality reports within agreed deadlines.
* Providing clear, practical Health and Safety advice, guidance and coaching to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
* Collating, preparing and issuing Health & Safety Files to the client.
* Managing agreed fees, confirming invoicing, closing out appointments and supporting debtor control.
* Exploring potential cross‑sell opportunities across broader Bellrock teams.
Qualifications
* 2 to 5 years’ experience in the construction industry with CDM/Health and Safety issues.
* Excellent working knowledge of CDM 2015 and relevant legislation.
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
* Ideally incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPs) or IOSH.
* Full and clean driver’s licence.
* Willingness to travel to sites across the North East, North West and surrounding counties.
* Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Clear enhanced DBS check.

Working Arrangements
Flexible and remote working where role and business needs allow. Successful candidate will work from Summers Inman – Newcastle Bevan House, Sir Bobby Robson Way, NE13 9BA and home-based, Monday to Friday 08:30‑17:00.
