Violence Abuse and Neglect Specialist Clinician
Job Description:
The primary objective of the position is to provide comprehensive specialist services in crisis responses, counselling, and support for children and young people who have experienced sexual assault, physical abuse, neglect, and support for their family members.
This role requires collaboration with local clinicians to promote safe and high-quality client-centered care within the Prevention and Response framework. The successful candidate will be expected to facilitate access to information related to JCPRP referrals and participate in Local Planning and Response meetings.
* Provide a consultative service in area/s of clinical expertise to local clinicians to promote consistent provision of safe high quality client centred care within the Prevention and Response Violence and Neglect (PARVAN) framework.
* Provide clinical in-service education programs including mandatory child protection training to staff and students to facilitate learning across the team.
* Support the domestic violence reforms across the FWLHD and act as a proxy representing the FWLHD at Safety Action Meetings (SAM).
Requirements and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess relevant qualifications or experience as per Award Classification – Bachelor Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or NSW Health Professionals Award Psychologist with general registration with AHPRA or Bachelor degree in Social Science, Social Welfare.
The following skills are required: Extensive and comprehensive specialist knowledge of contemporary trauma informed practice and relevance to rural/ remote service provision, advanced clinical skills in individual and group counselling and therapeutic work, high level communication and interpersonal skills, competency in the use of information and communication technology, ability to collaborate and work effectively and sensitively with a diverse range of clients, ability to exercise independent professional judgement and advanced reasoning skills for problem solving, prioritising and managing complex caseloads involving expansion, adaptation or modification or principles, procedures and techniques.
The ideal candidate must also hold a current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence and have the ability to travel as part of the role within an outreach and on call capacity.
