TheOpportunity
OurOperations Department is seeking a reliable, experienced,safety-focused individual for the position of Sweeper Operator. Therole involves scheduled and reactive sweeping using specialisedroad and path sweepers to keep streets and pathways clean and safethroughout the Shire of Wyndham–East Kimberley. The role may alsoassist other Operational team members as required (i.e. WyndhamLandfill, Kununurra operations staff) from time to time uponrequest by line management. Your responsibilities willinclude:
* Operate road and path sweepers to carry out primarilyscheduled, and reactive (under instruction) sweeping activitiesacross the Shire.
* Maintain streets, paths, and public areas in a clean andsafe condition in accordance with the planned schedule.
* Conduct daily pre-start checks and routine cleaning andmaintenance of sweeping equipment.
* Identify and report equipment defects, damage, ormaintenance issues promptly.
* Follow work schedules, job instructions, and trafficmanagement requirements.
* Record completed works and report operational issues inaccordance with Shire procedures.
* Interact professionally with the public and otherstakeholders while undertaking works.
* Operate other plant/labouring duties as required and asdirected.
* Carry out all duties in accordance with relevantlegislation, Australian Standards, and Shire policies andprocedures.
* Comply with the Shire's Code of Conduct and demonstratehonesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times.
* Ensure records, work logs, and reports are completedaccurately and in line with Shire requirements.
* Follow operational directives and instructions issued byOperational supervisors and managers.
Relevantqualifications in Grounds maintenance, Machinery Operation andHorticulture or landscaping or associated tasks, current Blue/White Construction Safety Card, current unrestricted WA Manual "MR'or "HR" Class Driver's Licence and current First Aid qualificationare essential for this role.
Youwill also need experience in lawn and garden maintenance, goodcustomer service skill, ability to work outdoors in East Kimberleyconditions, ability to safely operate relevant equipment and strongcommunication skill.
