What's the role?
We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join the Qube team in Whyalla. This position will report to the Workshop Manager. The primary role of the Diesel Mechanic is to undertake fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently. Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work under pressure and independently are crucial in this role.
What are we offering?
* $52-$54 per hour, flat rate + superannuation
* Roster: 5 days on / 2 days off
* Residential based role in Whyalla
Specific Responsibilities
* A commitment to Zero Harm
* Collaboration: Positive and constructive contribution to business
* Maintain and repair all company vehicles by manufacturer's specifications, company policy and relevant maintenance manuals
* Fault diagnosis both electrical and hydraulic
* Undertake regular servicing of fleet and conducting preventative maintenance on vehicles.
To be successful in this role, candidates must have
* Relevant Diesel Mechanic qualifications (light vehicle Mechanics will be considered)
* Demonstrated working experience with Kenworth, Cummins, and CAT vehicles
* Good mechanical aptitude
* Experience in heavy transport or mining environment (highly regarded)
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people
* Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment, with a proactive approach to task resolution to maintain a high quality of work
* Strong analytical thinker with an ability to make concise and compelling decisions
* Have a positive attitude
