About the opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to join their growing organisation at a pivotal stage of its evolution.
This role is primarily based in Newcastle, NSW. For candidates relocating to the region, there is the opportunity to work from the North Sydney Innovation Hub during the transition period.
Operating within a technology-enabled and customer-focused environment, the organisation has established a strong reputation nationally and is continuing to scale its operations, capability and revenue streams.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board and Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will provide strategic financial leadership across the organisation, helping to drive long-term sustainability, operational maturity and commercial growth.
This is a highly influential executive opportunity suited to a commercially minded leader who can balance strategic thinking with disciplined execution, while contributing meaningfully to organisational transformation and performance.
Key areas of focus include:
* Partnering with the CEO and Board to provide strategic financial and commercial leadership
* Leading long-range financial planning, forecasting and capital allocation strategy
* Driving commercial finance initiatives, pricing strategy and margin optimisation
* Supporting manufacturing, operational finance and supply chain performance
* Leading SaaS and recurring revenue financial management, including growth and customer metrics
* Strengthening governance, financial controls, reporting frameworks and risk management
* Leading and developing a high-performing finance function focused on continuous improvement
* Supporting organisational scalability, operational maturity and sustainable growth
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Proven CFO or executive finance leadership experience within a growing mid-market organisation
* Demonstrated experience advising CEOs and Boards on strategic financial and commercial decisions
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect financial strategy to operational outcomes
* Experience across manufacturing, supply chain, operational finance or cost management environments
* Advanced financial modelling, forecasting and scenario planning capability
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including at Board and executive level
* A collaborative and pragmatic leadership style with high levels of integrity and accountability
* Exposure to SaaS or subscription-based business models and recurring revenue frameworks an advantage
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline, with CA, CPA or equivalent qualifications preferred
