Position Details
Management (Hospitality and Tourism), Government to State (Government and Defence), Full time.
Salaried at L5, $105,167 to $114,938 per annum, PS CSA Agreement 2024.
Initially 0.8FTE (60 hours fortnight) Part‐time, will be Full‐time (1.0FTE, 75 hours fortnight) for the first 12 months with potential to remain full‐time. A 12‐month pool will also run.
About the Role
The Operations Manager provides leadership and direction for the day‐to‐day operations of the Museum of the Goldfields, ensuring effective management of human, financial and physical resources in accordance with departmental priorities and public sector standards. The role provides high‐level support to the site's Regional Manager and acts as the key delegate in their absence.
Responsibilities
* Manage daily Visitor Services operations through effective leadership, resource management, and operational planning.
* Deliver and support exhibitions, public and education programs, events, and outreach activities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, community groups, and visitors.
* Contribute to operational planning, site projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and detail‐oriented leader who enjoys working in a fast‐paced environment and is passionate about delivering high‐quality visitor experiences. You will be confident using computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office, and demonstrate well‐developed organisational and project management skills. Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and a commitment to excellence are essential, as are alignment with the WA Museum's values and strategic pillars (collaboration, community engagement, knowledge sharing and delivering impactful cultural experiences).
Qualifications and Skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Valid Criminal History Check.
* Valid WA 'C' Driver's licence.
Eligibility to Apply
Applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa allowing indefinite work. A current (within six months) National Police Clearance Certificate is required prior to commencement. Holding a valid WA 'C' Driver's licence is also required.
