About the role
We're seeking an experienced Chef/Cook 2IC to join the team at Giannitto Family Hotels in Gawler, SA. This full‑time role is a great opportunity to work for a reputable hospitality group and help drive the kitchen operations.
What you'll be doing
* Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the day‑to‑day kitchen operations
* Prepare and cook a variety of high‑quality dishes to the hotel's menu specifications
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene at all times
* Assist with menu planning, stock management and budgeting
* Lead and mentor the kitchen team, providing training and support as needed
* Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items
* Ensure a positive and collaborative working environment in the kitchen
What we're looking for
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a Chef/Cook, preferably in a 2IC or senior role
* Proven track record of delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
* Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast‑paced environment
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Passion for creating innovative and delicious dishes
