Job Overview

Lead Business Analyst within the UNITE team at Westpac. This role plays a crucial part of the UNITE program—a business‐led, tech‐enabled transformation focused on delivering a simplified experience for customers and employees.

Responsibilities

* Lead business and data analysis activities across strategic initiatives.
* Act as a bridge between business and technology, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and solutions align with business objectives.
* Drive high‐quality, scalable, and compliant solutions, and monitor delivery outcomes against enterprise standards.
* Mentor senior and junior business analysts, conduct peer reviews, and establish best‐practice frameworks to ensure consistency.
* Partner with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to shape solution design, translate requirements into user stories, process flows, and data mappings, and validate solutions to ensure they are fit for purpose.
* Engage stakeholders across business and technology, support data analysis, migration, and governance initiatives, and contribute to delivery, risk, regulatory, and governance reporting within Agile or hybrid environments.

Qualifications

* Previous experience as a senior or lead business analyst.
* Solid understanding of data migration, transformation, governance, and data quality principles.
* Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical, and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into explicit business language.
* Strong working knowledge of SQL and data querying concepts, with the ability to read, interpret, and validate queries.
* Experience with enterprise data platforms and reporting tools such as Teradata and Power BI.
* Experience working within Agile delivery environments, supporting structured documentation and maintaining high attention to detail.
