Job Description
WT in Adelaide is expanding, and with our continued growth and project success, we're looking for a motivated Quantity Surveyor with experience across a broad range of sectors to join our SA team.
In this role, you'll be hands‐on in delivering cost management services across the full project life cycle. From feasibility studies and cost planning through to procurement, reporting, and contract administration, you'll help ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget while maximising value for clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who wants to broaden their experience on major projects, work closely with clients and stakeholders, and progress their career with a leading consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct on‐site measurement, take‐offs, and pricing of construction projects
* Prepare bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documents
* Liaise with contractors, sub‐contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate pricing
* Manage project costs and budgets, including forecasting and analysis
* Provide cost advice and recommendations to the project team and clients
* Manage change orders and variations to the contract
* Review and negotiate contract terms and conditions
* Monitor project progress and identify potential cost overruns or delays
* Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members
* Maintain accurate project documentation, including measurement books and cost reports
* Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills to stay up to date with industry trends and best practices
Qualifications
* Relevant tertiary qualification in any of the following areas: Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
* Experience in a leadership role, managing a team and client relationships
* Experience working with and supporting operational executives
* Highly motivated with a passion for delivering excellence to clients
* Excellent communication skills and ability to manage a team and control multiple projects/client commissions
* Full Australian working rights and currently located in Australia
* RICS / AIQS accredited candidates will be highly regarded
* Proficient in the use of Cost X
* Ability to produce both top down and bottom up cost plans
* A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception, through to completion and post-project review
