SoBran is seeking a Facility Task Manager for our Bethesda, MD team.
Description of Duties
* Manage and lead the people assigned to the task so that work is accomplished in accordance with SOPs, policies, and guidelines associated with the expectations of their facilities.
* Serve as the subject‑matter expert in all areas of the facility.
* Create plans to mitigate potential risks within their tasks.
* Assist program management in the efficient allocation of the budget, write and maintain reports, and develop and maintain an effective relationship with the Government staff.
* Act as a liaison between contract and Government personnel, work with the human resources department in hiring, disciplining, promoting, and terminating personnel.
* Ensure staff follows all SOPs and Quality Assurance Standards.
* Develop and foster effective teamwork with staff and the management team.
* Set and clarify goals for staff, prioritize and coordinate work schedules.
* Perform weekly walkthroughs with Government Facility Manager.
* Work with the client to provide resolutions to operational issues/concerns in a timely manner.
* Report all animal and personnel issues and concerns to the appropriate chain of command.
* Assist in training classes.
* Interview potential applicants for open positions.
* Create daily and monthly reports.
* Conduct disciplinary sessions.
* Conduct performance review.
* Available to work the hours of 7 am to 3:30 pm M‑F; required to work weekends from 7 am to 11 am and may be expected to work extra hours during emergencies or unforeseen situations until work is completed.
Required Experience
* Must have a AA/BS degree in biology, animal science, or other related discipline.
* Must lead by example in ways that exceed staff expectations.
* Ability to think strategically and proactively to anticipate needs, risks, and emerging requirements.
* Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to manage, direct, and maintain full control of staff performance and daily task execution.
* Demonstrated ability to oversee workflow, delegate responsibilities, and ensure quality standards are consistently met.
* Demonstrated creativity and imagination in identifying solutions to operational and personnel challenges.
* Ability to evaluate how decisions and solutions may impact other areas of the program or related tasks.
* Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.
* AALAS Certification at the LATG, CMAR or ILAM level is a must.
