Job Overview
A skilled Chef is needed to lead the culinary team in a modern Australian restaurant.
Responsibilities:
1. Culinary Team Leadership: Oversee kitchen staff, train and supervise them for efficient service during peak hours.
2. Culinary Expertise: Prepare menu items including seafood, poultry, red meats, vegetarian and vegan dishes with precision.
3. Menu Variety: Grill premium meats, cook burgers, tacos and pasta/risotto dishes, assemble desserts and prepare sauces/dressings.
4. Plating and Presentation: Ensure consistency and visual appeal in all dishes.
5. Kitchen Hygiene and Safety: Maintain kitchen hygiene, sanitization and compliance with all food safety regulations.
6. Mise en Place Management: Manage mise en place, daily prep, storage of ingredients and perishables.
7. Staff Supervision: Support training, supervision and recruitment of kitchen staff.
8. Inventory Management: Monitor food stock, implement portion control, manage kitchen waste and maintain cost efficiency.
9. Quality Control: Check raw and cooked food quality and monitor sanitation practices.
