SURA has a new opportunity for an Assistant Underwriter in a hybrid capacity to join our busy team in Melbourne to work closely with experienced Cyber, Technology and Life Science underwriters to prepare underwriting files and tools for quoting, in addition to communicating upcoming deadlines with brokers and ensuring accounts are booked into the system promptly. Key areas of the position include building and maintaining strong relationships as well as assisting with underwriting and pricing accounts.
Other responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
* Preparation of policy documents for issuance
* Contribution to new business growth objectives by developing new broker relationships in relation to Insurance.
* Being an active contributor to the success of the Company by assisting in areas of development including strategic planning, policy and procedure & promotion of SURA Technology Risks in the market.
* Ensuring all service is provided in a fair and ethical manner and compliant with all relevant legislation, regulations, codes and Company policies and procedures.
* Ensuring professional conduct is maintained at all times to positively promote SURA Technology Risks, SURA, the AUB Group and the insurance industry.
We are looking for a well-presented strong communicator, both written and verbally who can effectively manage a busy workload and multitask with conflicting priorities. This role would suit someone who has a keen interest in technology and is currently working in the insurance industry and wants to become an Underwriter with a leading Australian business.
Additionally, we are looking for someone with the below experience
* Tier 2 General Insurance certification or willingness to complete
* Willingness to work towards Certificate IV in General Insurance or equivalent.
* Basic knowledge of the legal/legislative environment in which the insurance industry operates.
* Basic knowledge of accounting and claims procedures.
