Tunuba is a land management company 50% owned by Darumbal Enterprises. We are seeking energetic rangers to join our growing team. This role is all about on-ground action – supporting wildlife, managing weeds and feral animals, and ecological restoration. The positions will initially be casual with the opportunity to transition into full-time employment depending on performance and business needs.
Mandatory - Open/Unrestricted Driver licence (Class C) required, experience working outdoors and commitment to safe work practices.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
· Conduct manual, mechanical and chemical weed control following Tunuba's standard operating procedures and best-practice land management methods.
· Carry out bushland regeneration, site preparation, tree planting, watering, mulching and installing plant guards as required.
· Undertaking flora, fauna and habitat monitoring activities as required.
· Support integrated feral animal control projects including trapping and removal.
· Operate field equipment such as spray units, brush cutters, hand tools, and small machinery safely and efficiently.
· Support the delivery of Natural Resource Management and ecological restoration projects to meet milestones and service agreements.
· Maintain equipment and vehicles in clean and safe working order.
· Work closely with the Ranger Coordinator and team to deliver high quality field outcomes.
· Contribute positively to a small, skilled and supportive environmental team.
· Project support and on-site operations.
Desirable – but not essential – training is offered.
· Hands-on experience in bush regeneration, conservation, landscaping, farming or outdoor labouring roles.
· Knowledge of native vegetation, weeds, and land management practices (or the willingness to learn).
· Experience with weed control and herbicide application (or willingness to learn).
· Ability to use hand tools, spray equipment, brush cutters, and similar equipment.
· A reliable team player with a genuine passion for ecological restoration.
· Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and ability to swim (some boat work involved).
· Strong teamwork skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
· Drivers Licence - Class C (4WD experience is a bonus)
· General Construction Induction Card (White Card) and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
