About the Team
Transformers are responsible for supporting and developing ReSTful services for the Department. They also manage a range of midrange services that support the Departments online portal and other areas.
About the Role
As a Midrange Application Developer, you will be an integral part of a high-performing team in an Agile Release Train, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of innovative systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate within cross-functional Agile teams to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable and secure IT applications.
* Deliver high-quality software solutions that align with business objectives and user needs.
* Provide technical support and implement small to medium-scale change initiatives.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices, tools, and processes.
* Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure quality and alignment with Agile principles.
* Share knowledge and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You'll provide IT application support and assist with small change initiatives and contribute to a complex program of work. Your day-to-day work will involve sharing your knowledge and providing complex technical solutions to produce high quality results and deliver business needs. Technical Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in delivering and maintaining enterprise-scale systems using modern .NET based frameworks.
* Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and integration patterns
* Proficiency in one or more of the following technologies is highly desirable:
o Front-End: Angular 2+ (preferred), TypeScript, Durandal
o Back-End: C#, ASP.NET, ReST APIs
o Databases: SQL Server
* Experience with cloud-native development and a strong understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including:
o EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service)
o MSK (Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka)
o Fargate
o Lambda
o Kinesis
* Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
Location and Contract Term
This role can be based in Canberra and Brisbane. A 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month contract extension options, pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements
Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a NV1 security clearance.
