Joondalup Health Campus has launched an innovative new GP After Hours service and we are looking for experienced GPs to join us. You will work in your own dedicated GP consulting room, with treatment room capacity — separate from the ED but close enough to have full support should you need it. Patients present directly requesting the AHGP service and are reviewed by ED triage for safety before you see them, ensuring patients are appropriate for the care of a community GP. What makes this role different You have access to ED-speed turnaround on pathology and radiology even after hours— results are usually back during your session. If a patient needs escalation, the ED team is available on the same JHC site to collaborate and shared software means seamless handover with no duplication. Nurse / assistant in nursing support is provided. Patient numbers are kept low enough to ensure only patients that you can see wait for the service — this is not a quality rather than volume-driven model. The rate $300 per hour (contractor arrangement) Paid orientation time: 2hrs at normal clinical rate at commencement (Not Medicare dependent and no service fee, flat rate) Hours Currently 6pm–10pm with a flexible roster. There may be scope to further expand the hours as the service grows. You can elect the number of shifts per week or month that suit your schedule. We are actively looking at how the service grows and GPs joining now will have a genuine say in how that happens. We will aim to have 2 GPs rostered per shift once recruitment is complete. We will work with you to fit your current schedule and give you rostering flexibility, no minimum shift requirement. Suitable for Experienced community GPs. Experience in urgent care or after hours roles may be of benefit but is not a prerequisite, as presentations that are out of community GP scope will be directed to ED.
