About the Position
The Truck Driver (General) plays a vital frontline role in Aussie Roadlines Pty Ltd's operations, responsible for the safe, timely, and compliant transportation of goods and materials to destinations throughout Western Australia and interstate.
Operating heavy vehicles as part of the company's logistics network, the driver ensures freight is loaded, secured, transported, and delivered while maintaining vehicle roadworthiness and accurate records. This position is essential to meeting client commitments, protecting cargo integrity, and upholding the company's strong reputation for dependable freight services in a competitive national transport industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive heavy vehicles safely to transport goods and materials to various local and interstate destinations, strictly adhering to all road rules, fatigue management requirements, and company procedures.
* Load and unload cargo securely using correct techniques to ensure the safe and damage-free transport of goods.
* Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to confirm roadworthiness, identify defects early, and report any issues promptly.
* Maintain accurate and complete delivery records, driver logbooks, and all required transport documentation in full compliance with regulatory obligations.
* Comply with all road safety regulations, workplace health and safety procedures, Chain of Responsibility requirements, and company policies at all times.
* Communicate proactively with dispatch and logistics teams to manage routes, delivery schedules, and any changes or issues that arise during shifts.
Requirements
* Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
* Hold a current Australian driver's licence with the appropriate heavy vehicle class endorsement (minimum Heavy Rigid – HR, or higher depending on the vehicle operated) together with any other relevant transport or safety qualifications.
* Relevant minimum experience operating heavy vehicles in commercial road freight or logistics operations.
* Strong technical skills in safe heavy vehicle operation, pre-departure inspections, load securing and restraint, accurate logbook and documentation completion, and basic route/navigation systems.
* Excellent interpersonal skills including clear communication, reliability, punctuality, the capacity to work independently for extended periods, and a professional, customer‐focused approach.
