Overview
Build safer, more confident swimmers across the Banyule community by teaching swimming, water safety and survival skills to people of all ages. Part‐time employment offers flexible term‐by‐term rosters, access to gym facilities and a supportive leisure team.
Responsibilities
* Deliver swimming, water safety, survival skills, rescue techniques and stroke development programs across Banyule Leisure facilities
* Supervise classes to ensure safety and well‐being of all participants in a child‐safe environment
* Assess participant ability levels and adapt lessons to support individual learning needs
* Build positive relationships with participants and families, while maintaining records, equipment, training and qualification requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience working within a Learn to Swim Program (desirable)
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent class and safety management skills
* Demonstrated understanding of working with children
* Demonstrated flexibility in approach
* Commitment to Banyule values
* Mandatory qualifications: CPR certificate (essential); Swim and Water Safety Teacher Qualification (essential); Level 2 First Aid (Apply First Aid)
* Pre‐employment requirements: Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC); Current Working with Children Check; Pre‐Employment Medical Check

* Salary range $70,306.14 – $73,767.30 for full‐time equivalence ($35.58 to $37.33 per hour), excluding super, dependent on experience
