About the Role
We're looking for a Fraud and Scams Operations Analyst to join the BOQ Group team, supporting our shared goal of protecting customers and reducing financial crime. In this role, you'll focus on identifying, investigating, and responding to potential fraud and scam activity, helping minimise non‐lending losses and reduce risk across the Bank.
You'll spend your day monitoring fraud detection systems, reviewing alerts, and investigating suspicious activity, taking timely and appropriate action to prevent or reduce losses. This includes working through investigations end‐to‐end, gathering insights, determining the best course of action to resolve matters, and, where possible, supporting recovery outcomes.
Additionally, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate and up‐to‐date records in line with regulatory requirements and internal expectations. This includes documenting investigations, preparing clear written summaries or responses, and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders when needed. Your attention to detail will ensure our records are reliable, compliant, and support continuous improvement in how we respond to fraud and scams.
About You
You are a curious, judicious, and genuine advocate for protecting customers from fraud and scams. You may have experience in fraud or scam investigations, branch or customer‐facing roles, banking operations, or a related field. Alternatively, you might be studying or have completed a qualification in criminology, financial crime, or a related discipline. You approach problem solving thoughtfully, balancing speed and accuracy in investigations. You communicate clearly and confidently, whether documenting findings or engaging with others to gather information. You are comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and you are open to learning, adapting, and contributing to a supportive environment. Above all, you care about doing the right thing and want to be part of a team committed to protecting customers and staying ahead of fraud and scams.
