Energy Transition Specialist Role
The Australian Energy Market Operator is driving the energy transition in Australia, working towards a net zero economy by 2050. As an Energy Transition Specialist, you'll be part of the System Design Division, planning the power system to ensure safe, reliable, and affordable energy.
The Onboarding and Connections Group manages the end-to-end process for connecting and registering generators into the National Electricity Market. As an Engineer in this group, you'll play a pivotal role in mentoring junior team members and developing your professional profile through industry engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with network service providers, connection applicants, and original equipment manufacturers to assess and negotiate performance standards.
* Conduct power system simulations and analysis to determine grid connection requirements for new large-scale generators.
* Interpret simulation outcomes, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations on technical performance requirements.
* Prepare clear and concise communication to inform stakeholders on technical issues.
* Develop and improve AEMO's analysis methods and tools to meet business requirements.
