Senior Policy Advisor - Legislation and Strategy
The Senior Policy Advisor plays a crucial role in reviewing, analysing and developing policy and strategy across various contexts. This includes strategic, economic, legislative, regulatory and operational areas. The incumbent is responsible for formulating effective legislative and statutory solutions, providing authoritative advice to senior stakeholders, and assessing emerging trends and challenges.
* Develop and implement legislation and subordinate instruments administered by WorkSafe Victoria
* Provide expert strategic and timely advice to support the development and implementation of legislative and regulatory reforms
* Prepare drafting instructions, briefings, cabinet documents, discussion and consultation papers and reports
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Law, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Economics or a related discipline. Key qualifications include demonstrated knowledge of occupational health and safety and/or compensation law, strong understanding of legislative development and parliamentary processes, and proven ability to deliver authoritative advice under tight time constraints.
