Full Time opportunity, fixed term for 2 years (possibility of extension) Lead the Seymour Centre into a bold new era of artistic excellence Competitive remuneration package plus 17% superannuation About the opportunity As the Seymour Centre turns 50, we’re seeking an Artistic Director to bring fresh creative energy to develop an inclusive, dynamic program that resonates across Sydney. This role is central to defining and delivering the Seymour Centre’s artistic vision, with a strong focus on music and performance. The Artistic Director will curate high-quality programming that aligns with the Centre’s mission, engages diverse audiences, and strengthens its reputation as a leading cultural institution. The role will require a particular focus on artistic planning, program curation, and education programming, as well as developing relationships with artists, the sector, and government. This will also involve fostering community partnerships to ensure the Seymour Centre remains a vibrant, connected, and innovative space for artistic expression. Your key responsibilities will be to: curate a diverse and innovative program of performances, festivals, and events; lead programming across music, theatre, dance, festivals, and community events; collaborate with University departments and arts organisations to create dynamic projects; drive arts education initiatives and student engagement programs; build strategic partnerships with theatre companies, festivals, and cultural institutions; engage with government arts bodies to secure funding and support for artistic projects; drive revenue growth across the program. About you Proven track record in arts entrepreneurship, including programming, partnerships, and event management. Extensive experience in large-scale event management. Experience in delivering large-scale theatre and music performances for schools. Strong leadership with experience in people management and development. Expertise in managing diverse stakeholder networks and brokering partnerships. Skilled in crafting compelling industry-focused proposals that engage funders and sponsors.
