The Opportunity
The South Metropolitan Region comprises five Child Protection Districts, including Cannington, Armadale, Fremantle, Rockingham and Mandurah (Binjareb). This recruitment process will establish a pool of suitable candidates to fill vacancies across these locations. Only applicants willing to work in these locations should apply.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a District team delivering child protection services under the Children and Community Services Act 2004, ensuring children's safety and wellbeing.
* Supervise and support case workers in complex child protection work, including intervention decisions and case management for families and children in care.
* Chair planning forums and contribute to complex case work and broader District planning alongside the District Director.
* Allocate resources, manage workloads, and maintain team capability through supervision, collaboration, and staff development.
* Monitor and report on team performance, ensuring quality assurance of case documentation and compliance with reporting requirements.
Qualifications
You must have a bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a relevant human services area. All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency.
