An opportunity based in Karratha for a T120 Youth Support Officer
RRKAC secured funding through the Department of Communities to deliver the Target 120 service in the Pilbara Region.
The T120 program works with young people, their families and the wider community, providing early intervention and diversionary programs in a culturally appropriate, strength based and trauma informed way.
The Youth Support Officer will help support in the delivery of the T120 program. The role will play a key role in the delivery of the funded T120 program, including but not limited to Breaky Club, Sport & Recreation activities and School Holiday program planning and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide information relating to Target 120 Youth Program to allow young people and families to make an informed decision to engage with the program
* Support in the agreed deliverables of the T120 program including but not limited to Breaky Club, Sport & Recreation activities, School Holiday program
* Work with community members and organisations to increase understanding of RRKAC's role and activities, and their engagement in specific initiatives
* Help to plan and facilitate youth engagement events

RKKAC is an Aboriginal organisation, with over 400 members aged 18+. Based in Karratha, Western Australia, the organisation's vision is to work together as a community to establish a solid foundation towards independence, community wellbeing, cultural identity, and healthy Country now and for future generations.
Robe River Kuruma Aboriginal Corporation (RRKAC) is the registered native title body corporate for Robe River Kuruma (RRK) native title determined areas.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in the community services sector and specifically working with at-risk young people
* Experience working with young people who have experienced complex trauma
* Demonstrate high regard for confidentiality
* Experience working or training in delivering culturally appropriate and trauma informed best practice community services
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and for Aboriginal people and especially at-risk youth
* Model desired workplace behaviours
* Effectively resolve conflict
* Hold a current National Police Check (or ability to obtain), Working with Children card (WWC), Valid Driving License, pass pre-employment medical including Drug & Alcohol test
