Assistant Superintendent

Highlands School District is seeking an educational leader as our next Assistant Superintendent to serve our Pre K-12 program and provide both instructional and operational leadership. Reporting to the Superintendent, this is an opportunity for an accomplished, innovative leader to support the mission of the District, have a direct impact on programs and implementation, and collaborate on instructional and academic activities that position students for success. The successful candidate will be a skilled leader with proven experience, a passion for creating a supportive and rich learning environment, desire to provide opportunities for students through high quality learning experiences, and the ability to collaborate with teachers, instructional, and non‐instructional staff.

Essential Duties of the Position
* Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive professional development program that is aligned with the District's Comprehensive Plan
* Supervise and evaluate assigned administrative personnel
* Assist the Superintendent in the selection, placement, and evaluation of instructional staff
* Collaborate with the Superintendent on the development of curriculum and instruction Board policies and administrative regulations
* Promote a culture of collaboration, trust, and high expectations that support learning
* Serve as the District Title IX Coordinator and McKinney‐Vento Liaison
* Collaborate with employees, administration, and staff to ensure alignment in design, implementation, and assessment of the District's educational programming, including alignment with required District, state, and national standards
* Lead the District's Induction Program that aligns with Commonwealth standards and supports professionals while focusing on the use of appropriate and effective practices and methods for student achievement
* Oversee the implementation and ongoing efforts of Multi‐Tiered Systems of Support to ensure instruction is meeting student needs
* Serve as Safety/Security Coordinator and oversee Threat Assessment Teams training and Emergency Operations Plan
* Analyze data to ensure appropriate instructional benchmarks and progress are aligned for success and recalibrate and adjust efforts accordingly
* Oversee and coordinate student teaching throughout the District
* Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
* Communicate and present information effectively to a broad range of stakeholders
* Serve as District Grant Writer overseeing all submissions, implementation, and reporting

Applicants must possess demonstrated experience as a teacher in a public education setting, as well as experience in K‐12 administration. A Master's degree in educational administration, educational leadership, curriculum development, or a related field; and a Pennsylvania Superintendent Letter of Eligibility and Doctorate required.
