The Opportunity
We're looking for motivated individuals to join our Apprentice Transmission Lineworker Program, where you'll complete a Certificate III in ESI Transmission Overhead over a four-year period.
This program offers the perfect mix of practical experience and formal training. You'll learn from experienced professionals who are passionate about supporting your growth, while also attending TAFE to complete your studies.
This position will be based at our Gladstone depot; however, you will be working away from home throughout the state. Rosters may include 3:1, 10:4, 20:8 or 19:9 roster variants. A generous Living Away From Home Allowance (LAHA) will be provided.
What You'll Be Doing
* Constructing, maintaining and repairing overhead assets
* Operating tools and equipment used in the construction and maintenance of the network
* Installing and maintaining overhead transmission conductors and cables
* Inspecting electrical structures and equipment
* Testing and verifying transmission installations
* Assisting with yard and warehouse duties, administration, ground support, and traffic control where trained
What We're Looking For
We want team players who are enthusiastic, hands‐on, and ready to learn. You'll succeed in this role if you:
* Are 18 years old or older by January 2027
* Have a genuine interest in the energy industry and enjoy working outdoors
* Are physically capable and comfortable working at heights
* Have a great attitude and are eager to be part of a supportive team
* Hold (or are working toward) a Certificate II in Electrotechnology – this is advantageous but not essential
