What you will do as an Analyst or Senior Analyst
* Work flexibly as part of a team and independently, across multiple projects in a geographically dispersed and dynamic work environment.
* Build and maintain constructive working relationships with internal stakeholders and work collaboratively with other teams across the AER.
* Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities.
* Collect and analyse data and energy market material to develop insights, identify trends and draw accurate conclusions.
* Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in communicating technical information related to the energy sector to a diverse range of internal stakeholders.
* Assist in the development of new and innovative metrics to ensure analysis meets requirements of the changing energy market.
About You
In order to succeed in the APS5 Analyst role you will require:
* A well-developed understanding, or ability to quickly acquire an understanding, of the Australian energy sector and the role, purpose and objectives of the AER.
* The ability to undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence.
* Experience with the interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with internal stakeholders in a clear, concise and articulate manner.
* Working collaboratively with other people and sustain positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
* The ability to apply technical skills in tools such as Power BI, Excel and data manipulation techniques.
* A tertiary qualification in economics, corporate finance, law, public policy, engineering, data science or related fields.
Additionally, As The APS6 Senior Analyst You Will Require
* Demonstrated experience leading a team in a fast-paced and large complex people-centred organisation.
* Project management skills.
* Proven experience in collecting and analysing complex quantitative data sets.
* Strong research and analytical skills to investigate and analyse complex issues, identify industry trends and develop insightful narratives for reports, papers and advice to senior leaders.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to suit various internal and external audiences effectively.

Salary
* APS5 $89,946 - $95,374 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
* APS6 $99,562 - $111,590 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
